Become a Mentor

Do you live in the Naivasha area and have 4 hours of your time to give to a youth each month?

What does a Mentor do?

As a mentor, you play a crucial role in guiding and supporting your mentee. Your commitment includes:

  • Consistent Meetings – Dedicate four hours per month for at least one year, ideally meeting for about an hour each week rather than all at once.
  • Building a Meaningful Relationship – Foster trust, reliability, and encouragement to help your mentee develop a positive and balanced lifestyle.
  • Leading by Example – Demonstrate integrity, responsibility, honesty, and respect in your daily life, inspiring your mentee to do the same.
  • Maintaining Confidentiality – Adhere to Daraja la Amani’s policies by keeping all shared information private.
  • Seeking Support When Needed – Notify project staff immediately if challenges arise. Staff members will check in with you monthly to ensure a successful mentoring experience and provide any necessary guidance.

By mentoring, you make a lasting impact, offering support, wisdom, and encouragement that can shape a mentee’s future.
